These are pictures of my 1942 WC-54 which I have  restored over a three and a half year period starting in 2003.

My apologies, some of the links to the picture gallery have been cross linked with another project.

I will work at restoring the original images when I get some time.

Original Markings found under 13 Layers of paint

Original Markings found under 13 Layers of paint

Note 12" hole in side panel, a previous owner was going to turn the Dodge into a camper. The holes were cut in each side.

Passenger door

Talk about a few dents!

Luxurious custom bucket seats were included.

Rear doors

Original Medical Dept markings discovered.

Most of the paint finally stripped.

Close-up of opening for camper window. YUK!

More progress.

Note window opening now filled with metal panel.

Front passenger side view of progress.

Repairing holes in the side panels

Templates were made for two pieces of metal. One large and one the exact size of the hole

Using 3M Panel Adhesive, I positioned the smaller panels to the larger panels

The panels were then spread with 3M Adhesive on the lip of the larger panels and placed in the holes. Screws were used to maintain the depth

Here you see a helper adjusting the depth of the panels. Making sure the panel is flush with the outside edges of the hole

Panel in place and properly adjusted for flush mount

Wooden braces were made to hold the panel tight while the adhesive dried

Brace provided even pressure on panels

After the adhesive had cured, screws were removed

Note how flush the panel is mounted

Finished panel required a very thin coat of body filler to fill the lines

Holes filled and dash primered.

I had to custom build seat brackets for the attendents seat.

Got her green on the inside.

Primered

Primered and less a few dents.

It's finally Green 4/29/2006
